Microbiology Online courses are offered during the regular terms and first summer session at North Carolina State University (NCSU) and you will take them together with other students, many of whom are enrolled in degree programs at the University. Academic advisers are available to help you choose a course, and navigate the system for admission to NCSU and registration for classes.

Advising

As a student in our online courses, you will have access to academic advisers. Our advisers can provide guidance in choosing a course, offer academic support for a course in-progress, or help design a plan of study to meet your individual needs. We are invested in your success in our program!

Flexibility

We have classes to fit your schedule. Most of our online courses are offered year-round. Additionally, summer courses are offered at an accelerated pace. Our online courses are asynchronous, meaning that you don’t have to be online at any specific times, and fit into your busy life.

What’s an Online Course Like?

online_course_exampleOur online courses are delivered through an interactive learning platform which leverages tools such as Moodle and Blackboard Collaborate. Courses feature a variety of learning materials including audio lectures, videos, and slide sets. We employ proctored exams offered through remote proctoring centers or ProctorU, a virtual proctoring service.
